- *Customer dropped vehicle off, says battery was dead in the morning. Valve cover PCV system was also making whistling noise. *Cluster shows battery discharge messages, alternator was not charging at the time. During valve cover removal we noticed electronic water pump stayed ON even when engine was completely cold, water pump ran for 40 minutes non stop until we disconnected battery to avoid more discharge. Water pump staying ON in safety mode is what caused battery to get drained. BSD networking system includes IBS sensor, oil level sensor, and electronic water pump. IBS sensor evaluates battery voltage, charge current, discharge current, and battery temperature and communicates with digital motor electronics via lin bus. After installing IBS sensor let vehicle sit and rest for three hours for new ibs sensor to begin analyzing battery condition and operate accordingly, after letting vehicle sit upon start up alternator charging at 100% capacity for about an hour to recharge battery, after four miles of driving alternator charging capacity dropped to 20-35% thus battery has recharged. Let vehicle sit after test drive and confirmed water pump does NOT stay on anymore after turning vehicle off. *Intercooler charge pipe broke upon removal and oil pressure sender had a small leak corrected, topped off engine oil level.

- Vehicle dropped off customer concern message on cluster says turn AC off engine overheating with cooling fan on high speed at all times. Temperature gauge on cluster is completely dead does not show coolant temp at all. Engine has DTC P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor circuit hiGH. Coolant reservoir is a little low Recommend coolant temp sensor and thermostat at the same time, water pump is also leaking as far as cooling repairs that are needed. Did full inspection and valve cover on passenger side is leaking, possible front crank seal and or oil pan gasket is leaking engine oil, transmission has a leak at the rear, engine and transmission mounts are collapsed transmission is almost touching leaf spring across.
